The nineLegends Natural Selection pack is a compilation of various custom files for the Half-Life modification Natural Selection. These custom files are tailored towards competitive players, with making fragging easier and more enjoyable as the main goal. While new players may certainly also enjoy the contents of this pack, you should probably be careful installing this if you're not sure what you're getting into. With previous versions of this pack getting over 3000 downloads, you can safely assume that it's worth while checking it out, though!
The precursor to this pack, known as the Knife Gaming pack, was a bit more user friendly in many ways, as it came with an installer. I've chosen not to go with an installer, as I personally think it was more hassle than help. Having everything in a .rar should make it easier to pick out the files you want, although, regrettably, it does make it more difficult for "newbies" to get things working "just right". Ask someone who's already installed it for some pointers if you're confused.
You can contact me on #nineLegends @ irc.quakenet.org or on the nineLegends forums, located at www.nineLegends.com. If you ask in a clever way and/or have hot lady bits I might be tempted to grop..err.. help you.
<-- BASIC INSTALL GUIDE -->
I'm not going to do a thorough thing here, that would take too much time as there's simply too much "stuff" included in this pack. Backup your NS folder before you install anything from this pack in case it doesn't work the way you want it to.
Be aware that this isn't a "click install->play the game" type pack. You're actually going to have to do a little work on your own to figure out what everything does and whether or not you want to use it. This is especially true when it comes to the configs included -- just copying everything over and using it might not do you any good.
That said, if you simply copy everything over from the "3. Put this in your NS folder" into your NS folder, your NS will be pretty much identical to what mine was when I played NS. If you want to take your fanboyism (:cool:) even further, you can even grab my configs from the "4. Additional files" folder and play it like the ownerer himself (yeah, that's right baby).
Download the program called "Spriteviewer" if you want to look at the .spr files without having to start the game.
Good Luck, Have Fun! :]
